Description
Description:
Nattokinase is an oral antithrombotic agent for the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
It is an enzyme extracted and purified from a Japanese food called nattō. Nattō has been served as a traditional food in Asia for hundreds of years and has recently garnered increased interest in Western medicine.
Nattō is produced by fermenting soybeans by the action of the bacterium; bacillus subtilis var natto. While other soy foods contain enzymes, it is only the nattō preparation that contains the specific nattokinase enzyme.
An oral administration of NK can be absorbed by the intestinal tract because, unlike most proteins, it is resistant to the highly acidic gastric fluids in the stomach and can be absorbed in the later sections of the digestive tract intact. It can also resist high temperature (50 °C) and pH (to 10). NK exhibits little to no side effects.
Suggested uses:
It is a potent blood-clot dissolving protein, used for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It functions by hydrolysing fibrin and plasmin substrate.
It is considered to be a safe, powerful, low cost, and an all-natural supplement for the treatment of heart and cardiovascular disease.
Other cardiovascular benefits, including:
- Lowering blood pressure: Studies show nattokinase helps to lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure in people with hypertension (high blood pressure).
- Lowering cholesterol: Research shows nattokinase may lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglyceride levels.
- Preventing blood clots: Nattokinase has fibrinolytic and anti-thrombolytic properties, which may prevent blood clots from forming and potentially even dissolve blood clots.
- Slowing atherosclerosis: Nattokinase has antiplatelet and anticoagulant effects that may help clean arteries and slow the development of atherosclerosis (hardened arteries).
- Covid-19 Protection: Use has been suggested to protect against the Covid-19 side effects as well as from the Covid vaccination
Dosage:
1 to 2 tablets per day or as directed by your health practitioner.
Contraindications:
Caution should be taken before using Nattokinase if the following are an issue:
- Bleeding disorders: Because Nattokinase seems to act like a blood thinner and might make bleeding disorders worse.
- Surgery: If there is any planned surgery, stop taking it at least 2 weeks before hand as it might increase the chance of bleeding during or after surgery. It might also make blood pressure difficult to control during surgery.
- Bruising: Taking Nattokinase along with medications that also slows blood clotting might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.
- On blood thinners: Use with caution if already on blood thinners. Speak to your health professional first.
